DC Toastmasters Club, Brisbane

General Information

Club meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 6.00 for 6.30 pm at the Theodore Club, 1st floor, 333 Adelaide Street, Brisbane.
Visitors are welcome and meals are optional at $14.00.
Affiliated with Toastmasters International, the world’s leading organisation devoted to the improvement of individual communication and leadership skills.

Members have opportunities to:

Learn and practise techniques of effective public speaking.
Prepare and deliver formal speeches on subjects of their own choosing.
Give impromptu talks on assigned topics.
Gain speaking experience that relates to specific career needs.
Sharpen their listening and evaluation skills.
Learn proper parliamentary procedure.
Preside as a meeting chairperson.
Gain valuable leadership and management experience.
Gain personal confidence that will help when speaking to one person or a thousand.
